One-week sessions for children and youth, ages 7-16, are offered at our United Methodist camps– swimming, boating, campfires, ropes course, Bible study and much more!
The Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church provides an outdoor ministry for all ages -- a fun, challenging, and unique Christian experience in a camp setting. Emphasis is on fun in the outdoors with the guidance of caring counselors who listen, play, share, and teach. Camp is about independence, making friends, challenging activities, "cool" counselors, campfires, vespers and special programs. Daily activities vary among the camps, but all include Bible Study through discussion, song, drama and games as well as swimming, crafts and sports.
Each of the five United Methodist camps offers one-week camp programs for children and youth.
In addition to summer camp programs, each camp offers year-round conference and retreat facilities, special programs, and opportunities for summer employment for older youth and college students.
Camp brochures for Westview on the James, near Farmville, and Camp Alta Mons, near Roanoke, are available in the back of the church or from the church office.
