Community Outreach

Jamieson participates in a variety of community outreach programs, including Project Care-For, Food Pantry and the Clothes Closet.

Project Care-For

Project Care-For is a non-denominational group of Christian volunteers putting their faith into action to help provide emergency relief for individuals and families in need in and around the Southside Mecklenburg County area. Project Care-For provides fuel assistance, home repair, food and clothing assistance (in conjunction with the Food Pantry and Clothing Closet), rent assistance and nutrition and homemaking.

Project Care-For maintains an office at Jamieson which is open on Monday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. During this time volunteers accept applications for assistance and interviews clients in need of assistance. The answering machine is monitored daily for special emergencies. The phone number is 434-374-0400.

Food Pantry

Please bring items for the Food Pantry on the first Sunday of the Month. Items needs are Spaghetti and sauce, canned meat or fish, cereal, canned fruits, peanut butter, jelly, dried beans and rice. Leave the items in the overflow area of the church. Food assistance is available at the Food Pantry to help families in need. During the summer and fall, fresh vegetables are available through the gleaning network. Some funds are set aside to purchase food on an as needed basis. The food pantry is located at the Clarksville Community Center on Woodland Drive. Hours are every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Clothing Closet

 The Clarksville Clothing Closet is available to provide good used clothing for anyone in need. The Clothes Closet is located at the Clarksville Community Center on Woodland Drive. Hours are every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
