Education Committee

The purpose of the Education Committee is to oversee the education programs at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church. Programs include Sunday School (adult/children/youth), Nursery Coordination, Children's Church, Youth, Young at Heart Coordination, college student ministry, Faith Community Nursing, Vacation Bible School, and the Saturday Morning Breakfast Series.

Responsibilities of the Committee:

• Arrange/provide religious education via Sunday School classes for all age groups
• Attend quarterly committee meetings
• Decide on topics/arrange Saturday AM Breakfast Series
• Plan nursery volunteers and send out a yearly schedule to workers
• Work with paid nursery worker to resolve problems that may arise
• Send a delegate to VBS meetings and assist with yearly VBS at either Jamieson or other churches administering bible school
• Provide health info, BP screenings, ensure safety with BP cuffs and First Aid kits in both church buildings
• Secure volunteers for Children’s Church
• Secure volunteers for Young at Heart sessions
• Provide adult support to the JUMPY (Jamieson United Methodist/Presbyterian Youth) group
• Provide support to members who are attending college
• Provide input to complete yearly budget
