Reach & Relate Committee
This committee addresses the concerns and conditions of people in our congregation and community to help them grow in their relationship with God and others in our church and community. The purpose is to help people grow in their spiritual lives and to be better equipped for life as Christian disciples.
Responsibilities of the Committee: Oversees the internal and external groups in place for serving refreshments or providing services to the members of our congregation and to the general public when invited to events scheduled at our Church. It coordinates the following sub-committees and their activities.
- Bereavement Committee – In the event of the death of someone in our Church family, Church facilities are available for the funeral or memorial service. If the family chooses to use the church, the Bereavement Committee offers to provide ushers, babysitting during the service and a light reception or meal in the Fellowship Hall either before or after the service. Currently there are three teams in place to help facilitate this service: Team #1 Win Baker, Team # 2 Elaine Senz and Team #3 Linda Pulliam.
- 9AM Coffee Hour – Coffee and light refreshments are offered after the 9 AM Worship service each Sunday. Mary Linda Davis is the coordinator of this service.
- Fellowship Dinners – In an effort to provide opportunities for members to meet on a social basis and to fellowship with like minded Christians, this committee provides meals (evening) supported through participant donations in the Fellowship Hall. Carol Dalton and Elaine Senz co-chair this committee
- Scout Coordinator – Steve Roberts is our Scout Coordinator. Steve reports scouting news from the Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops that meet at our church.
- Chat & Chew - This is a group that was successful in the past to bring together members of Jamieson for a lunch and conversation (during the day) and is being reactivated on January 13, 2010. Lunches are planned to run from January thru May. Betty Miller and Louise Sheppard are co-chairing this group.
- Social/Reception Committee - This group provides decorations and snacks or food planned after special activities at the Church (i.e. Lenten luncheon, Hanging of the Greens, etc) Members include Pauline Decker, Carol Dalton, Lori Hamlett, Myone Merritt, Linda Pulliam, Margaret Woltz and Elaine Senz.
