Fellowship & Receptions
This committee addresses the concerns and conditions of people in our congregation and community to help them grow in their relationship with God and others in our church and community. The purpose is to help people grow in their spiritual lives and to be better equipped for life as Christian disciples.
Responsibilities of the Committee: Oversees the internal and external groups in place for serving refreshments or providing services to the members of our congregation and to the general public when invited to events scheduled at our Church. It coordinates the following sub-committees and their activities.
- Bereavement Committee – In the event of the death of someone in our Church family, Church facilities are available for the funeral or memorial service. If the family chooses to use the church, the Bereavement Committee offers to provide ushers, babysitting during the service and a light reception or meal in the Fellowship Hall either before or after the service.
- 9AM Coffee Hour – Coffee and light refreshments are offered after the 9 AM Worship service each Sunday.
- Fellowship Dinners – In an effort to provide opportunities for members to meet on a social basis and to fellowship with like minded Christians, this committee provides meals (evening) supported through participant donations in the Fellowship Hall.
- Scouting Ministry - Jamieson sponsorsa Boy Scout troop, Cub Scout Den, and Girl Scout/Brownie troops.
- Social/Reception Committee - This group provides decorations and snacks or food planned after special activities at the Church (i.e. Lenten luncheon, Hanging of the Greens, etc)
