 The
2008 Relay for Life of Mecklenburg County
will be held Friday, May 30 through Saturday, May 31 at Robbin's Park, in
Clarksville. Teams from across the county are forming to continue the
American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. It is a time to celebrate
those who have survived cancer, remember those we’ve lost, and fight back
against a disease that touches too many lives.
The Jamieson
Memorial United Methodist and Clarksville Presbyterian Youth Group (JUMPY)
join this effort each year with their team Youth For The Cure.
Don't let the name fool you, there are no age restrictions for joining this
team. Everyone is invited to join the youth to support this effort.
The Youth For The Cure team has been
registered on the Mecklenburg County 2008 Relay for Life web site, and you
may all now go right away and
register yourselves as team members.
Just fill out the information and you will be a registered team member. If
at ALL possible, use a credit card to pay your $10 registration fee.....it
just makes keeping up with the money easier. You will also order what size
T-shirt you want. Make sure you don't order Youth sizes (those are for young
children) unless you really are ordering for a toddler or child in grade
school.
There are also ways on the site you can e-mail your
friends and families to have them donate to you through our team online.
This is a great way for you to do more fundraising.

Fundraising Events
Chili Cook-Off: JUMPY held the 3rd Annual Chili
Cook-Off on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Members of both churches
entered a crock pot full of their favorite chili recipe. Everyone was
invited to sample the chili and vote with their donations. JUMPY
raised $226 for their Relay for Life team.
Congratulations to Diana Overby of Boydton, VA who won with her Fiesta
Chili.
Chicken Dinner:
On Sunday, April 11 JUMPY held a chicken
dinner following the 11:00 a.m. service. They raised $743 for Relay
for Life.
