President Moose Yeates called
the meeting to order and welcomed all who were in attendance. James Sheppard
led the group in prayer.
22 people were present which
included our guest speaker and one visitor, Jon Harvell. A special “thank
you” to the cooking team for preparing a wonderful breakfast.
The minutes were approved for
the March 2008 meeting.
Elaine Senz requested that the
UMMen consider: 1) hosting a fellowship dinner in June, July, or August such
as a picnic and 2) there is a need for a male shepherd to contact individual
male members to invite them to church functions. Moose and Clint Dalton will
begin working on the fellowship dinner. Any male interested in working with
the shepherd program, contact Elaine Senz.
At our next meeting on May 11th
at 8:00 AM, the UMMen will invite ALL of the ladies of the church for
Mother’s Day. (All ladies are invited regardless of being a Mother or not.)
Sign-ups for the monthly head
ushers are still going slow. Please contact Clint Dalton if you are willing
to help out.
Our guest speaker was Cindy
Felton who was representing the American Cancer Society. She presented a
program called “Road to Recovery” which concerned providing transportation
for patients for doctor’s appointments and/or treatments.
After a motion to adjourn, we
were dismissed.
